Telling a Tale with Photo Photography

By Karl Berch

Candid and spontaneous photographs taken during a session are infrequently the ones our customers love the most. We usually ask them to bring something private that reflects who they are at this time in there lives. For seniors it is most frequently some sporting kit a musical instrument. They also love bringing their pets. We have had everything form cats and dogs to snakes and horses. For more junior children it's generally a favourite toy that is near and dear to them.

Having some private items available during a photograph session makes getting those candid's an easy process.

The best way to tell a story about a senior that I have come up with is to get seniors really involved in the session. I'lI begin by having them show me what they brought and then have them let me know why it's crucial to them. It's superb how swiftly they open up when they are talking about something they love. When they are interacting with me this way, they are engaged and relaxed and some great candids and an interesting story can be captured.

With the younger children I really like to put them on the set with their favorite toys and just let them play and have fun. I try and do very little directing and if their the right age, I just talk with them about the toys and what their doing with them. After a minute or two they do not even know they are here to be photographed and a great story begins to appear.

Pictures are generally believed to be worth 1000 words. The most valuable thing that we all share on this earth is time. It's the only thing that we will give away and never get back. While we may only be on this earth for a limited time, our portraits will live on for ever. Footage are freeze frames of moments of time that you can only get back through an image. By picking up an old photograph you can abruptly emerge yourself into an ocean of emotion. Is capturing a minute in your life actually worth it? I suspect the answer is quite clear.

Senior photos are instant history lessons that supply you with a window to the past. Methods of life is often explored in clear detail with a picture and your imaginativeness. We consistently use photos that past cultures created to find out more about what they were like. Have you got a documented history of your life for future generations?

Photos have a singular way of capturing minute details. Video is nice , but hails compared to the detail you get with a straightforward photo. You can capture everything down to the texture of your skin in a photograph. These minor details all help capture the quintessence of the image and moment of time portrayed.
