The size is also another determinant factor and you can choose the size you want. Most commonly used are the medium sizes as they can double function into many areas. Try to check out what you are handling before settling down on a size as that is the only way to know whether it is the right size.

The gauge size of these screws also matter and what one size can perform, maybe the other one may not be able to. You can get from number 2, all the way to number 14. Having had some slight knowledge on the physic of these, then it would be easy to know the right size to start with. It does happen that the metric size also determines where to use them. These are measured in millimetres and range from 2.2 mm to 4.8 mm.
